“And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.” (John 12:47 KJV).
This pronouncement of our Lord Jesus Christ should not be mistakenly taken as a license not to believe. Yes, of course, we have a choice to believe or not, with its corresponding consequence. This is telling us of the Lord's unhurried rhythm of patience for those who have not and still have to believe. The reassuring pace of our Lord's patience is giving every person the opportunity to come to grips and to believe while still breathing and living in this world. All the wayward disdainful souls are given the time they have to receive and believe in His Words and welcome Him to be their Savior. No one is judged and condemned among those who are still alive during this period of the Lord's first coming. He came to save the world, not to judge.
But, any one who has not receive His gift of salvation and still not born again, must not take this for granted thinking there is time. In this world time is of the essence and it is finite. Everything expires and time is short. Scriptures say: it is fleeting like a shadow (Ecclesiastes 6:12). It's like a mist that appears for a little while then vanishes (James 4:14). Hence, now is the time (2 Corinthians 6:2). Those who do not believe, judged and condemned themselves, when this life is over. The Lord's Words of truth say: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:18 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
