“And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: for I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” (Luke 10:23-24 KJV).
These passages emphasize the incredible blessings believers are endowed with to see and experience the Lord Jesus as He truly is—God's manifest grace and truth—unlike the prophets of old who only glimpsed Him in types and shadows. This revelation of the Lord’s fullness brings wholeness, healing, and divine provision, making our part to simply receive Him, not just serve Him, allowing His unmerited favor to transform us from within.
The Apostles were common men given an incredible blessing. They were blessed to be able to see God's greatest promise fulfilled and embodied in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have received their testimony to the Word, this fulfillment of God's promises, in the Gospels. We are incredibly blessed, indeed. The Lord Jesus is the turning fork of all revelations and the fulfillment of all of God's plans. If we are going to understand Scripture, and God's plan for our lives and our salvation, we begin with Christ Jesus. Let's rejoice at the privilege of living in the light of His glory.
Go for the Lord Jesus Himself, the source, not just the blessings or healings He provides. This Apostle Paul affirms, as he testifies: “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—” (Philippians 3:7-9 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
