When God Says …
“He hath holpen his servant Israel, In remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, To Abraham, and to his seed for ever.” (Luke 1:54-55 KJV).
The phrase "to his seed for ever" is significant as it emphasizes the eternal nature of God's promises. In reference to Abraham's "seed" this passage points to the future generation of Israelites who will inherit God's covenant promises through the Only Son of God. This reflects the Word’s thematic essence of continuity and infinity, that the faithfulness of God transcends through all generations. Mary’s song professes of God’s enduring and firm commitment to help His chosen people, the descendants of His servant Israel.
This points to the ‘seed’ not ‘seeds’ referring to the seed in Mary’s womb whom she’s instructed to name Jesus who will save God’s people and the world from dying. This line of Mary’s song of praise affirms God’s faithfulness. Now in Christ Jesus, as we believe in Him, we can live not in our faith but IN ‘HIS’ FAITH. It is written, apostle Paul exhorts: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 KJV).
And I say, AMEN!
