The Gospel of Luke 6:41-42 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

““Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye” (Luke 6:41-42 NIV).

The problem with sin (that is not believing and receiving salvation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus) and the lack of forgiving spirit (because of unbelief), coupled with, questionable motives of a corrupted heart, is rooted in the core of one’s DNA inherited from Adam. We must look inwardly and critically at ourselves. God holds us accountable for our actions and motives. The Lord wants us to see that our first job is to deal with our own sin - the plank. Only after we address this issue in our own life can we begin to help others address the sin - (the sawdust) in their lives. And even then, we must approach them with humility, grace and love. And, we are the Lord’s instruments to touch lives while we are still in this world.

The Lord Jesus already dealt with, once and for all, the issue of sin - past, resent and future (Romans 3:25; 1 Peter 1:9). In this time of God’s dispensation of His grace, the one sin humanity must face for judgement is not believing in Him who shed His blood and died for the world. For us who believe, now in His grace we await by faith for His coming to secure us unto salvation eternally. Scriptures reveal and it is written: “For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
