The Gospel of Luke 6:21 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.” (Luke 6:21 KJV).

Like those people who are poor in the flesh and in spirit while in this physical realm that the Lord Jesus is addressing His teaching to His crowd of disciples, those souls who hunger and weep will have their fill and rejoicing as they come into His presence by faith.

We all hunger. Yes, we experience physical hunger. But that physical hunger should concede to a deeper truth-we are spiritually hungry for God. Being focused on the physical, we tend to seek comfort in physical nourishment to quench the hunger we feel in our souls. We tend to reject the reality that there is a place in our being that yearns for God, that craves for His presence, and that desires the fullness of His presence in us. If we admit our hunger for God and seek Him eagerly, then we can be satisfied — He will come to us and make His dwelling in us (Galatians 2:20a), as we receive His Lordship by faith.

Sorrow is inevitable in this fallen world. At a time no one expects, sorrow will touch somebody's heart. Sorrow at the physical parting from a loved one, sorrow over the evils in the world, sorrow at the lethargy of people, sorrow at the world's rejection of God and His grace, or sorrow for the persecution of being a child of God in Christ Jesus, will be remembered. God will not allow a single teardrop shed to be forgotten. He will wipe away every tear and have our mourning swallowed up in the joy of his presence and in victory over sin and death by the Lord’s resurrection. God's blessing awaits all who bear the pain of righteous sorrow.

Yes, all who hunger and weep in their lives in this physical realm because they come to grace by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord, shall have their fill and laughter through all eternity. We have the Lord’s promise. It is written: “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”” (Revelation 21:3-4 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
