The Gospel of Luke 6:34 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.” (Luke 6:34 KJV).

As children of God by grace [not on our merit] through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are set apart to live at a high level of virtue. We have been freely given a new life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We too must freely give. Not lend! Lending is for the world’s way of living, not for heavenly kingdom. We are not expected to be caught up with the system of this world. We must remember, we are sojourners of this world. We’re just passing through. Along the way through our journey, where needed, we manifest the character of God’s Kingdom, not by our own efforts, nor by religion, but by the guidance and unction of the Holy Spirit who lives in us (1 Corinthians 6:19). We move as the Spirit moves! (Galatians 5:24-25).

The Lord Jesus paid the ransom for our sin and gives us salvation for free. It’s a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9). There is no way we can pay Him back. He expects His followers, that’s you and I who are born again in Christ (John 3:3), to follow His example and give without assurance of being repaid (Luke 6:36), promising that God will reward us "at the resurrection of the just" (Luke 14:14). As Proverbs 19:17 says, "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed."

So, while still navigating through this world, we continue to do God’s Kingdom business, not by our self effort but by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, working from the inside out. The power of His grace propels us to bear much fruits from within, manifesting through us. He promised in His Words using the analogy of the sower. “As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:9-10 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
