The Gospel of John 18:28 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.” (John 18:28 KJV).

Legalism and worldly ways, dressed with lies to gain favor of human eyes, vs truth for righteousness in the eyes of God, is what these religious priests were very concerned with. Hence, "His accusers didn't go inside (the judgement hall of a Gentile power) because it would defile them, ..." Fancy facade is what their warp religious doctrines dictate. Totally in contrast to those who depend on grace like the disciples, as well as you and I, when we received the Lord Jesus Christ to be our Savior and are made born again. We abide not by the precepts of men nor the doctrines of religion. We live by faith! (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38).

The Lord Jesus Christ addressed them sternly about their hypocrisy in one of His scathing discourse: ““Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?” (Matthew 23:25-33 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
