The Gospel of John 10:6-7 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:6-7 KJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ used another figure of speech in this parabolic analogy to explain why these religious critics don't listen to His Words. These hostile keepers of religion disputed the Lord's giving sight to a man born blind shown in John chapter 9. In this parable He reveals that those who don't listen to Him belong to a different flock and that only those sheep who belong to Him hear and listen to His call.

Continuing to confuse these unbelieving religious 'scholars', here, in this text, the Lord introduced another metaphor of Him being the 'door of the sheepfold' through whom His sheep enter. These guys have no inkling what the Lord is talking about. The gospel is hidden in parables from them who are perishing and unbelieving. But, not for those who believe (Mark 4:10-12).

As we receive the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by faith in Him, we who were once in darkness have His light shine through our hearts. Apostle Paul testified in His epistle to the believers in Corinth: “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-6 ESV)

And I say, AMEN!
