The Gospel of John 9:40-41 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.” (John 9:40-41 KJV)

The Lord's words and actions are constantly being monitored and scrutinized by His antagonists who are always on His trail, surrounding Him wherever He goes. Their pursuit is to harm, and to hinder the message of truth from being revealed. They cavil and grumble for every truth the Lord exposes about them, and now with the Lord alluding to their blindness pricked their arrogant ears. Their high regard of selves for having the claim of being Israel's 'teachers' say: "how dare you speak to us as such?"

In essence, the Lord is talking about their spiritual accountability. These Pharisees, Priests and Sadducees  are Israel's teachers. One of them named Nicodemus once approached the Lord under the cover of darkness (John 3:1-10). Yes, these are teachers of Israel, who are supposed to guide their people to the truth. Yet, they are blind to it. They are lessons for us to reflect on as children of God by faith is Christ Jesus. We, therefore, must rest in total dependence on Him and be reminded that: “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” (James 3:1 ESV).

In His grace much is expected of us. We are to point our loved ones and those who are in our proximity to the truth, in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. By the anointing we receive, (referring to the Holy Spirit who lives in us) by faith, teaches us, as it is written: "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." (1 John 2:27 NKJV).

And I say, AMEN!
