The Gospel of Luke 4:27 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.” (Luke 4:27 KJV).

The Lord Jesus who is the person of grace (John 1:14 & 17) having been rejected by His home folks, reminds them of another incident in Israel hundreds of years back as recorded in 2 Kings 5:1-14. He was referring to a leper named Naaman, a general in the Syrian army, who was healed through prophet Elisha. This was a miraculous healing by grace done to a gentile soldier. There was no single leper healed out of many in the land of Israel. The rebellious Israelites depended on their self-effort to observe the law given through Moses. But, grace is more glorious than the law. The law was given through Moses - a servant, grace and truth came by Jesus Christ - the only begotten Son of God.

Again, the Lord Jesus emphasizes that heavenly blessings would not be withheld or hindered by the unbelief at the home ground. It will move beyond borders to nations who receive Him - the bearer and person of grace. In Christ Jesus by our faith in Him, blessings flow freely. The person of grace, who is our Lord Jesus Christ is always willing. We only need to come and receive for He has a lot to give.

The Lord Jesus, in one of His many encounters with lepers, cleansed the leper who came without requiring for religious red-tape. Grace never require for religious demand to confess, repent and believe in order to be healed. Believing must not be bribed nor coerced. It must come as natural outflow from our heart between us and the Lord. Never advertised! The leper just came, knelt and ask. In Apostle Matthew’s account in one of the Lord's healing encounters, it is written: “When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” (Matthew 8:1-3 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
