The Gospel of Luke 5:26 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.” (Luke 5:26 KJV).

This passage of Luke’s gospel account, who himself was a physician, reveals that “they were ALL amazed” witnessing this extraordinary things unfolding before their presence, with the instantaneous healing of the paralyzed man. "They were all amazed" including the religious delegation, one would suppose. Strange things they say they have seen to day. Their reaction was filled with a mixture of awe, fear and praise. The eventful healing of a man who needed men to carry him in through the roof is now standing in their midst, carrying what he had been lying on and going home by himself praising God. That’s all by the power of the Lord’s spoken Word, telling the man to: “get up, pick up your mat and go home.”

With the description of the crowd’s reaction stating "they glorified God" seems to convey that this crowd got it. This suggests that they recognized the divine power at work in their midst. This indicates that they understood the healing as a sign of God’s presence and power. Being filled with fear, conveys the message that the crowd exhibited either dread or reverence with the awareness that what they had witnessed was extraordinary and beyond what the medical field can do in the ordinary course of events.

This passage puts us in the know of God's divine intervention, and the manifestation of His power in the world. Yes, as we witnessed now reflecting on this Gospel of Luke, when we come in the Lord’s presence, like this paralyzed man, the Lord Jesus Christ intervenes and manifests with His wondrous work in our life-wherever and whenever needed. He did it then. He will do it now. He invites you and I to come. It is written the Lord Jesus said: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”” (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
