The Gospel of Luke 5:18-19 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.” (Luke 5:18-19 KJV).

This is what faith is! These men bringing a friend with a palsy (a paralytic man), did what ever means possible for their disabled friend to COME in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. They went the extra effort even tearing apart the tile roof of the house where the Lord Jesus speaks as they couldn’t get through the dense crowd that blocked the doorway to the house. Such a great display of faith! Neither uttered, nor advertised by creating a drama or scene, that may discomfort other people. They just do by sheer act of determination to have their friend come in the presence of the Lord.

That’s the kind of zeal one should do to come in the presence of the Lord. Yes, there may be hindrances and impediments on the way, as it happened to these men. Roadblocks created by the world with its enticements, could divert some from going near the Lord. It could be religious options placed before you with its false promises. These could take many away from the truth of who the Lord Jesus is. He is Messiah, the Son of God. Those obstacles we can overcome as we seek the truth, for the Lord Jesus assured everyone who seeks Him. ““Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8 NIV). These men are our example to emulate.

The scriptures also, assure, that: “So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— not that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.” (John 6:41-46 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
