The Gospel of Luke 5:15 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.” (Luke 5:15 KJV).

Blessings are contagious in the hands of those who are blessed by grace. Blessings flow freely out of those who recognize that they are blessed by grace, like this leper who came in the presence of grace in Christ Jesus. He came before the Lord without the complexity of religious mambo jumbo with its pagan inspired rules and prerequisites. He came to rest in grace. Hence, he received healing freely and purely by the grace of the Lord. Blessings of grace overflow freely. The Lord Jesus said to the disciples: “freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8 NIV). This man’s joy for being cleansed and set free to go home to his family, able to blend in his community, partake in his synagogue gathering and be part of society again, overwhelmed his discretion. "He went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news…" (Mark 1:45).

Healing is an important part of the Lord’s ministry to fulfill the prophecies affirming His divinity. When asked by the disciples sent by John the Baptist: “Are you the one who is to come?” The Lord Jesus replied: “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.” (Matthew 11:5 NIV). But healing is not the core of His mission to dwell among us. He came to bring the Good News: “To save the world through Him” (John 3:17).

And as His fame spread across the land, then and through generations up to our time, many came to hear Him. But, are you and I coming to hear Him? For those who have not yet, it’s time to come, to hear, to receive Him and be born again. He loves you and I. We are the apple of His eyes. He loves us, as He loves those who came then not just to be healed from their infirmities, but to hear Him. Let’s be the answer to the prayer for laborers of the harvest. For as the Lord saw the crowd, scriptures say: “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:36-38 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
