When God Says …
“Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.” (John 20:18 KJV).
What a great privilege it was for Mary Magdalene to be the first person chosen as the instrument for women to be restored by the Lord in her rightful place of significance in a society that treated women unfairly. She was the first to see and speak with the risen Lord Jesus Christ in His glorified physical state. Being the harbinger of the good news of the Lord’s resurrection, Mary is a metaphor for the church (the body or group of believers who are born again by faith in Christ Jesus. This is not a building or institution or religious group). She’s the pioneer bearer to reveal the Lord's resurrection power to many starting with the Lord’s brethren disciples and to future believers in our time who truly embraced the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer, free from the hypocrisy of religion.
Sadly though, many are being duped into the perpetuation of religious enterprises of the Jewish priests in this present day. But, the truth of God’s holy and written Words is available to us. By grace in our Lord Jesus’ finished work on the cross and His resurrection power, while we are still walking on this planet, we have the truth available for us to be set free (John 8:32). We just have to come to the Lord Jesus Christ as we are, like that thief on the Lord’s side at the cross (Luke 23:40-43). Let us believe in the only begotten Son of God our Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:29).
Let us, therefore, rest in His grace and love to be born again into a new and living hope. As the Lord’s redeemed by His grace through faith, Apostle Peter exhorts us with these words: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:3-5 ESV).
And I say, AMEN!
