The Gospel of Luke 8:24-25 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” (Luke 8:24-25 KJV).

The storm represents the trials and challenges that we who believe face in this realm of time, space and matter, called the world. It is a metaphor for the tumultuous and unpredictable nature of living in the world, where people often find themselves caught in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. In contrast, the Lord Jesus calming the storm symbolizes His ability to bring peace and stability to our lives while in the world. It reminds us that through faith and trust in Him, we can find refuge and strength even in our worst times of struggles.

This event happened in the Sea of Galilee representing the world we navigate through as we live in this physical life. The boat is our 'borrowed' temporary life susceptible to the conditions of the sea. The storms and rough waves are the trials and tests along our life’s journey. In this story, we have the comforting reveal that the Creator and Author of life is in our boat. That is if we allow Him entry into our life by believing in Him. His presence is all we need.

With Him in our boat, we have the assurance that the One who can calm the waves of a stormy sea is with us. We have now the privilege of hindsight to be relaxed and not panic in fear, like the disciples, when trials come across our way as we journey through this world. We need not wonder but glorify Him, know and be still that He is God who loves us and dwells in us. Scriptures declare as it is written: “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” (Psalm 46:10-11 KJV).

And I say, AMEN!
