When God Says …
“And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.” (Luke 8:32-33 KJV).
The Psalmist declare “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”(Psalms 139:14 NIV).
Yes, God formed each of us in our mother's womb, carefully putting together in a wonderful way for His very purpose. We're designed for a mission on this planet. But Satan tries to steal our identity and spoil God's purpose for our life. This man lost his name and known only by the name of the evil powers that possessed him. But, just as the Lord Jesus has power over the storm, His words have power over Satan and his hordes of demons. His presence, power, and words cast and destroy the work of Satan that kept this man in bondage and on the edge of death. The Lord gave the man back himself as He sent away evil by His command. He can do the same with you and with anyone who will ask Him!
The Lord Jesus even pandered with the Legion's plea, by granting it to enter into the herd of pigs, instead of being sent into the abyss. And, the man is relieved from the control and possession of the hordes of demons. He is set free from the long period of bondage by evil. Now, as with you and I who are born again by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, this man is now free to shout his praise as a recipient of God's favor. The anointed One who released him from the grips of the legions, has proclaimed: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” (Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV).
And I say, AMEN!
