The Gospel of Luke 8:41-42 When God Says...I Say, AMEN!

When God Says …

“Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.” (Luke 8:41-42 NIV).

The Lord Jesus was casting a legion of demons on the east side of the Sea of Galilee that went into the pigs. And for that, restoring a possessed man to himself, the folks there were scared and asked Him to leave. In contrast, a crowd of people were waiting for Him as He arrived on the west side of the Sea of Galilee. These crowds longed to be with Him because they expected Him to work miracles in their lives. Many of them want restoration. One man in particular, an important man in the community, was anxiously waiting for His return. His only daughter, age twelve, was very ill, and this man wanted the Lord Jesus to come with him, and heal her.

However, the Lord was mobbed by the crowds in this side. On the east side of the Sea of Galilee, He faced demonic opposition and people's confusion that led to rejection. On this opposite west side of the Sea of Galilee, He faced the problems of popularity and acceptance that were based on people's various kinds of motives, and the crowd's wrong thinking of Him as just mere miracle worker. In many ways, these events are direct opposites that could converge on the same path. These stories represent the wide-ranging forms of attack that Satan uses to try to ruin the work of God. The Lord Jesus, however, ensured that God's work was done no matter the circumstance or what the devil does to obstruct it.

Yes, the Lord Jesus came so you and I may have life! The devil, the thief, comes to steal and to bring death. It is written, the Lord Jesus said: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10 ESV).

And I say, AMEN!
